Positive Living Award Celebration
Firelands Positive People is a nonprofit organization dedicated to recognizing and uplifting extraordinary high school students who have overcome significant life challenges with strength, courage, and a positive outlook.
Since 1996, the organization has celebrated resilience—honoring young individuals who rise above adversity and make meaningful contributions to their schools and communities. Each year, students from high schools across Erie, Ottawa, Huron, and Lorain counties are selected to receive the Positive Living Award.
These remarkable students have faced challenges such as loss, hardship, health issues, or difficult home environments, yet continue to persevere and inspire others through their determination and optimism.
Beyond recognition, Firelands Positive People provides scholarships to support recipients as they pursue higher education and brighter futures. Their stories serve as powerful reminders of the strength of the human spirit and the impact of maintaining a positive mindset.
In April, Firelands Positive People proudly celebrates 30 years of honoring outstanding young individuals at its annual awards celebration—bringing together families, educators, and community leaders to recognize these inspiring journeys and the lasting difference they make.
